Solo work makes every shortcut feel reasonable. There is nobody across the table asking why a release note is vague, why the migration has no rollback, or why the demo path only works on the machine that built it. The antidote is not more discipline. It is more structure.

The systems that help most are small: a release checklist that fits on one screen, issue notes that explain what changed in plain English, screenshots for UI work, and a habit of writing down the next risky assumption before touching the code.

I like tools that make the honest path the easy path. If I can see the build, the diff, the deployment target, and the user-facing consequence in one pass, I make fewer heroic guesses. That matters when there is no team safety net.
